1.0 INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE



1.1 Dhanaji Nana Choudhary Vidya Prabhodhany (DNCVP)

The organisation was established in 1994 memory of great freedom fighter Late Dhanaji Nana Chaudhari. The aspiration to establish this institute was to engage in accomplish the dream project of Late Dhanaji Nana Chauhari’s for a just society & devotion to social development of motherland. The number of academic courses has started under the umbrella of DNCVP to build a strong community of young population. The chairperson of this institute is an eminent & well known social worker Shri. Shirish Madhukarro Chaudhari.  This organization is popular in the Khandesh region for its quality education and the academic engagement in various social activities.

1.2 College of Social Work

College of Social Work Jalgaon is an academic institution of DNCVP. It established with an aim to spread Social Work Education and practice in the community. It is located at Kusumba village of Jalgaon district. It provides insight to the significant Social matrix of social and political economy of the problems emerging out of imbalances in Social relationship. It helps to envision students for creation of an effective model of helping mechanism. College of Social Work is providing opportunities of Social Work Education to the youth in Jalgaon District. It is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (NMU). The mission statement of college is to train and Provide Social Engineers for the Healthy Building and Development of Society and Nation. The objectives of institute are to undertake research studies and encourage programs for interdisciplinary research; to arrange for technical training in research methodology and to provide consultancy and guidance for individual researchers and research institutions. The College of Social Work is offering the B.S.W. and M.S.W. courses. The specialized concentrations in the M.S.W. courses are ‘Personal Management and Industrial Relation’ and ‘Community Development’. Total intake capacity for B.S.W. is 40. The intake capacity for M.S.W. course is 60. The students are mostly from rural areas. The standardize entrance test are organized for the selection of candidates to enroll in college.

2.0  INFRASTRUCTURE

2.1 Seminar Hall

The institute has the independent seminar hall with 100 capacities. It is well furnished and equipped with all the modern technology.

2.2 Library

The library, a centre of self learning, has been playing an important role in supplementing academic activities and boosting research. The library is well enriched with a collection of about 5,500 books and journals on various subjects related to the curricula of different programs. The library subscribes to a number of Journals, Magazines of national and international level. The library has the open access system. 

2.3 Computer Facility

The institute has 25 computers with internet facilities for student’s aspiration of advance techno based knowledge.
 
3.0  RESEARCH PROJECTS

3.1 A research project is sanctioned for 2 years as “An Investigation into Ethno medicinal Practices of Vaidhu community in Khandesh” region funded by ICSSR, New Delhi. The total sanction budget is Rs. 4.96 Lakh.

3.2 Institute has completed many minor projects. They are funded by district collectorate office and social welfare department. The funding amount varies in between Rs.70000 to Rs. 10 Lakhs.
